However eventually the insulation becomes full and now this heat travels downward to the cool interior of the home, if you can STOP this heat from traveling into the home, in the summer your home remains cooler and less energy is used. In the winter, heat travels upward and escapes into the attic and is absorbed. The heat generated by the home is now heating the attic, if you STOP this heat from traveling into the attic, your home remains warmer and less energy is used.
